Frosted Window Film for Offices, Shops and Clinics
Frosted window film gives clear glass the soft, sandblasted look of etched glass without replacing a single pane. It lets daylight through while blurring what is behind it, so a meeting room, treatment room or ground-floor office stays private without feeling closed in.
We measure every window on a free site survey, cut the film to size in our own workshop and fit it with our own team. Glass stays clean and bubble-free, and the edges line up with frames and mullions.

Planning a frosting scheme
Before cutting anything we agree the height of any privacy band, usually set so that someone seated at a desk or table cannot be seen from the corridor, with a second band higher up for people standing. Doors and side panels are matched so the line runs level across the whole partition, even where glass panes are different sizes.
Think about what should stay clear, too. Leaving a strip of clear glass at the top keeps daylight moving through an office, and a clear window in a door helps people avoid collisions. We mark these options on the mock-up so you can compare them. If your organisation is likely to move or reorganise rooms, a simple plain frost is the easiest to replace later; a cut logo or pattern gives more character and suits reception areas and boardrooms that stay put. Either way, film is chosen to suit internal glass, and we check whether any glazing has a coating or special treatment before we fit to it.
Where window frosting works best
- Glass meeting rooms and partitions: a privacy band at seated and standing eye level keeps conversations discreet while the room still looks open.
- Ground-floor offices and clinics: full-height frosting stops passers-by looking straight in from the pavement.
- Shop back-of-house areas: hide stockrooms and staff doors behind the sales floor.
- Bathrooms, changing areas and treatment rooms where clear glass is not an option.
Logos, patterns and etched-glass effects
Film does not have to be a plain sheet. We can cut your logo, lettering or a repeating pattern out of the frost so the clear glass forms the design, or apply cut frosted shapes onto clear glass for the reverse effect. Graduated stripes, lines and dot patterns give a contemporary look and can double as manifestation, the marking that makes large panes visible so people do not walk into them.
Free design with photo-realistic mock-ups means you see the frosting on a photo of your own glass before anything is cut.
How it is fitted
Glass is cleaned and the film is applied wet, then squeegeed flat and trimmed to the frame. Most jobs are fitted on site in one visit, and we can work around opening hours so the office or shop keeps running.
Choosing between frosting and window graphics
Frosted film is about privacy and a calm, architectural finish. If you need full-colour branding, opening hours or promotional graphics on your windows, our window graphics service covers printed vinyl, one-way vision and lettering, and the two are often combined on one shopfront.
For glass doors and screens that need visibility markings, see our glass manifestation service.
Frosted Window Film: Questions and Answers
Does frosted window film work at night?
Frosting blurs shapes rather than blocking light completely. At night, when a room is lit and the outside is dark, silhouettes can show through more clearly. If you need full privacy after dark, we can suggest a denser film, a blackout section or blinds alongside the frosting.
Can frosted film be removed?
Yes. Frosted film can be peeled off and the adhesive residue cleaned from the glass, which makes it a good choice for rented offices or for rooms whose use may change. It can also be replaced with a new design later.
Can you cut our logo into frosted film?
Yes. We can cut your logo or lettering out of the frosted film so it appears in clear glass, or cut it from frosted film and apply it to clear glass. Send us your logo file and we will show you both options on a mock-up.
