Why brightness matters
An ordinary screen placed behind glass can look washed out or almost blank in daylight, especially on a sunny, south-facing frontage. Window displays use high-brightness panels designed to stay readable when sunlight hits the glass, and many adjust their brightness through the day so they are not too harsh after dark. We look at which way your window faces and how much sun it gets on the survey before recommending a screen.

Content that works through glass
People pass a shop window quickly, so each slide needs a single message: one property, one offer, one product. Large text, strong contrast and short display times work better than detailed slides. For estate agents, a property image with price band, number of bedrooms and area name is usually enough to stop someone; full details can sit inside or online.
Content is managed through software that lets you upload images and video, build playlists and schedule them, so morning, afternoon and evening can each have different messages. Updates can usually be made remotely, without visiting the shop. Keeping a short library of ready-made slides makes weekly changes quick.
Heat, glare and practical details
Shop windows can get hot, so screens need space and ventilation behind the glass. We plan cable routes and a discreet location for the media player and power supply, and make sure the screen does not block security shutters or window cleaning. A timer can switch screens off overnight, or keep them running if your window is lit for passing trade in the evening.
Working with your other window graphics
Screens work best as part of a planned window. Vinyl graphics, frosting or printed panels can frame the screen, hide the back of the display from outside and carry permanent details such as your logo and opening hours. Can a normal TV be used in a shop window?
It will work, but most domestic screens are not bright enough to be read clearly through glass in daylight and are not designed to run all day. High-brightness commercial screens are made for this job.
Can I change the content myself?
Yes. Once set up, you can upload images and video, arrange playlists and schedule content through the display software, usually from a computer away from the shop.
Do window screens get too hot?
Windows can heat up, so we leave space and ventilation behind the screen and choose displays rated for the conditions. We check sun exposure on the survey.
